You know what is funny? Monty Python is funny. Specifically, the "witch scene" in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. That scene is really funny.

You know what isn't funny? John McCain isn't funny. Especially while inciting hate during one of his anti-Obama tirades. Hate isn't funny at all.

Yet, somehow, I think it would be very, very funny if a group of intelligent people got together, pretended to be McCain supporters, strategically positioned themselves in the crowd during one of McCain's rallies and re-created the witch scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. John McCain would of course (unwittingly) play the role of Sir Bedevere while the intelligent group of people strategically positioned in the crowd would be the dimwitted mob.

Here's sort of what I have in mind...


McCain: Who is the real Barack Obama?

Mob: He's a witch!

McCain: What was his actual record in the years before the great economic crisis of our lifetimes? What has this man ever actually accomplished in government?

Mob: Burn him!

McCain: If Senator Obama is such a champion of financial regulation, why didn't he support these regulations that could have prevented this crisis in the first place?

Mob: Apples!
Mob: Bread!
Mob: Very small rocks!
Mob: Cidar!
Mob: Cherries!
Mob: Churches! Churches!

McCain: Who is the real Senator Obama? Is he the candidate who promises to cut middle class taxes, or the politician who voted to raise middle class taxes? Is he the candidate who talks about regulation or the politician who took money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and turned a blind eye as they ran our economy into a ditch?

Mob: Build a bridge out of him!

McCain: Is he the candidate who promises change, or is he the politician who has bought into everything that is wrong with Washington?

Mob: Throw him into the pond!

I'm pretty sure video of this prank would be a youtube sensation. More importantly, I think it accomplishes something else - John McCain is making a mockery of our political system by stooping to this level so maybe it's about time somebody makes a mockery out of him.
