"Transformers" Sequels To Abandon Trilogy Format
First there was “Back to the Future,” and then “The Matrix,” and then, more recently, “Pirates of the Caribbean,” where literally the last thing said on screen during the second film was a cliffhanging new plot point.

...or even more recent than that, Empire Strikes Back. Which was the 2nd act of the, if not first, certainly most popular, modern day incarnation of the 3-act play.Strange that Bay would avoid a formula so tried and tested.
"Star Wars", "Back to the Future", "The Matrix" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogies all have two things in common that the Producers of Transformers might want to take note of...
1) They use the standard 3-act play formula that's been successful ever since man put quill to papyrus.
2) They made a shit-load of money.
Perhaps shunning the format isn't the greatest idea. Then again, based on the quality of the first movie, it might just be best to start all over again.
